Therapy for Women in Lawrence, KS
Support for self-esteem, body image, relationships, and the invisible load of holding everything together.

So many women arrive in therapy fluent in everyone else's needs and strangers to their own. If you've spent years being the dependable one, the one who keeps track of everyone else, it can be surprisingly hard to answer the question "How are you?" for yourself.
This is a space where you don't have to be the strong one. Together we look at the patterns that got you here (perfectionism, people-pleasing, a harsh inner voice, a complicated relationship with your body) and where they were learned. Those patterns usually made sense at some point. Now they may be costing more than they give.
Whether you're navigating a life transition, recovering from a relationship, or simply tired of never feeling like enough, this work is about coming back to yourself.
How this work unfolds
Untangle the 'shoulds'
We separate what you actually want from what you were trained to want: by family, culture, and every message about who women are supposed to be.
Befriend the body
Somatic work and trauma-sensitive yoga practices help rebuild a relationship with your body based on trust and respect rather than criticism and control.
Practice taking up space
We practice concrete skills: setting boundaries, saying what you want, letting yourself rest. In this work, your needs are the point.
Common questions
Wondering about women's issues?
Have a question that isn’t answered here? Reach out anytime.
My problems feel small compared to other people's. Should I still come?
If it's heavy enough that you're reading this, it's heavy enough. Minimizing your own pain is often part of the very pattern we'd be working on.
Do you work on body image without focusing on weight?
Yes. This is a weight-inclusive space. Body image work here is about your relationship with your body, not about changing it.
Is this only for women?
This page speaks to experiences many women share, but my practice is open and affirming to people of all genders, including trans and non-binary clients.
